With the use of models, I was able to develop the design of the master plan so that it worked properly. Looking into my site analysis I could design the landscape to reduce the flood risk. I did this by implementing a reed bed which would also filter the grey water.

The brief gave certain requirements of the buildings needs, such as accommodation for families as well as groups. The space offered yoga and spa lounges as well as a large shared kitchen and dining area.

By doing research into sun paths and analysis in the weather and climate of the site, I orientated the master plan to make best use of it. Additionally I wanted to combine the views and reduce road noise.

MODEL MAKING

1:10 scale model

For this project I created a 1:10 scale model of a section of the eco lodge, this helped me to understand how the real thing would work. By using similar techniques to the real items but scaled down I could achieve realistic effects which helped to display how the building functions.
